Work Study Program


Front desk work study position

We’re looking for some amazing customer service focused dancers who would like to  join our team and support the operations of our growing studio!


Front Desk Work Study positions are stationed at the main check in desk at the Ascendance Pole & Aerial Arts to help greet clients, answer questions, assist with retail sales, some light office administrative work, and light facility duties.

Candidates must commit to a minimum of 1 regular shift per week. Candidates must commit to a minimum of 3 months to be considered. This position will report to the Studio Manager and Program Director. 

Weekly Schedule

We are looking for Work Study to take one of these shifts each week.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (one person on each evening shift)

  • 5:00pm – 9:00pm (4 hours)

Saturdays (one person for each shift. You may combine shifts)

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm (2 hours)

  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm (2 hours)

  • 2:00pm – 4:00pm (2 hours)


  • Welcome and orient visitors of Ascendance, upholding our high standard of customer service

  • Answer in-person inquiries for all Ascendance programs

  • Answer phone calls to Ascendance to take messages, answer questions, or provide directions as needed.

  • Light cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, wiping mirrors, removing the trash, and restocking studios with supplies.

  • Assist with signing in students to their classes

  • Ring up retail purchases

  • Other miscellaneous office tasks

  • Attend monthly Staff Meetings, as schedule allows.


  • Extremely punctual, reliable, and dedicated.

  • Interest in working with our community and being a representative for our studio’s mission

  • Presents oneself in a mature, polished, polite, friendly manner

  • Customer service and MindBody experience a plus

Studio Stewart

This person would help us keep of beautiful studios in pristine condition and would be available to do a deep clean of our our facilities once a week. We will provide all cleaning supplies and you would not need to clean our bathrooms. We may also also ask this person to assist with occasional routine pole and rigging maintenance.

Candidates must commit to a minimum of 1 regular shift per week. Candidates must commit to a minimum of 3 months to be considered. This position will report to the Studio Manager and Program Director. 

There is a lot of flexibility in this position and we can work with your schedule. Ideally, this would be during the weekdays when classes are not in session, but we may consider after hours or weekend work from the right candidate. We expect 2-4 hours a week of commitment and will give preference to someone who can commit to a consistent schedule.


Mopping floors, dusting surfaces and baseboards, cleaning mirrors, watering our plants, and other cleaning tasks as needed. Our landlord takes care of our shared tenant restrooms, so there are no bathrooms or toilets to clean (woo hoo!).


We are looking for someone detail oriented who won’t take short cuts, someone who is reliable and excited to be a part of our community both behind the scenes and in class. No professional cleaning/facility experience required.


  • Work Study Students will receive account credit to use for services at a rate of $15 per hour worked.

    • Account credit will be added to the Work Study client account at the end of the month, when hours worked are tallied.

    • Credit remaining on the account cannot be traded for cash and must be spent or forfeited by the close of the workstudy term.

  • Work Study Students can rent the studio at $10/hour rental rate (instead of $30 per hour)
